Turtles to Chicago!!

52 Flavors recently completed the 8th Annual Turbo Turtle Triathlon in beautiful, Elkhorn, Wisconsin. Personally, the Turbo Turtle always reminds me to smile through all athletic events (hey, we're turtles!) and to ponder learning how to swim one of these years. Thanks to all the wonderful Seegers for putting on such an amazing, inspiring event and thanks to all the participants for making it so memorable. (Pictures will be posted soon)

Now, Bridget, Carrie and I continue our training that will take us to Chicago in early October. Last week, we all ran a half marathon and this week we step back to 10 miles before hitting 15 next Saturday. Believe me, if anyone would ever suggest that 10 miles was a "step back" week a few months ago, I would have had quite the chuckle. Now, every day we're learning that all we need to do is start where we are and take one step forward. If you take your time and enjoy your days -- whether walking 1 mile or running 4, things start to change. You get stronger, it just happens. And you learn to laugh at yourself a little more because hey -- you're a little crazy for doing this.

Onto the next adventure, Turtles!

Welcome to 52 Flavors of Love!!

Welcome family and friends!

The purpose of this blog is to keep you all updated on Team 52 Flavors of Love! You can track our marathon training process, or click a link to help us raise funds for the American Cancer Society.

Team 52 Flavors of Love started in mid-May during a 1am conference call. Renee Willette, Bridget Seegers, and Carrie Otis thought, "Hey, maybe we should do a marathon!" And the search began, along with some registration. By the end of the call, we were all officially registered for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on October 12, 2008.

We are not just running this race for ourselves. We are also raising money for the American Cancer Society. Our current goal is $2,850. We have a long way to go to reach this! If you would like to support us in our efforts, please click on the following link to visit our ACS Team Page.
